Zwetschgenröster
Austrian Stewed Plums
Zwetschgenröster is a classic Austrian plum compote, gently simmered with warming spices like cinnamon and cloves. It's a versatile accompaniment, often served with sweet dishes like Kaiserschmarrn or pancakes, but also delicious with yogurt or as a simple dessert on its own.

💡 Ammattilaisvinkit: Avoid overcooking, as the plums can become mushy. - 4
Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves before serving.
💡 Ammattilaisvinkit: Discard the whole spices. - 5
Let the Zwetschgenröster cool slightly before serving. It can be served warm or at room temperature.
