  • 500 g White fish fillets(such as hammour, snapper, or cod, cut into chunks)
  • 2 medium Onions(finely chopped)
  • 3 medium Tomatoes(pureed)
  • 4 Garlic cloves(minced)
  • 1 inch piece Ginger(grated)
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind paste
  • 2 to taste Green chilies(slit)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 0.5 tsp Garam masala
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Water or fish stock
  • to taste Salt
  • a handful Fresh cilantro(chopped, for garnish)
