  • 1 kg Chicken(cut into medium pieces)
  • 3 stalks Lemongrass stalks(bruised and cut into 3-inch lengths)
  • 2 inch Ginger(sliced)
  • 5 cloves Garlic(sliced)
  • 3 medium Shallots(sliced)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Salt(or to taste)
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 3 pieces Bamboo stalks(about 1.5-2 inches in diameter, cut into 1-foot lengths, sealed at one end with banana leaves or foil)
  • 3 sheets Banana leaves(for sealing bamboo)
