  • 400 g Granulated sugar(Adjust to taste. Can be reduced slightly.)
  • 2 tsp Good quality saffron threads(Ground into a powder or steeped in 1/4 cup hot water for 15 minutes to bloom.)
  • 3 tbsp Rose water(Add towards the end of cooking to preserve its delicate aroma.)
  • 60 g Unsalted butter(Divided, some for cooking, some for finishing.)
  • 50 g Blanched slivered almonds(For garnish. Can also use pistachios.)
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon(For garnish.)
  • 1.5 L Water(Approximately, for cooking the rice.)
