Tinto
Colombian Black Coffee
A simple yet deeply satisfying Colombian black coffee, known for its robust flavor and customizable sweetness. Traditionally brewed on stovetops, this tinto is a staple in Colombian households and a beloved street-side refreshment.

ð§ ææ
- 4 tablespoons Finely ground Colombian coffee(Use a fine grind, similar to espresso, for optimal extraction. If using whole beans, grind them just before brewing.)
- 4 cups (approximately 950 ml) Water(Filtered water is recommended for the best taste.)
- to taste Sugar(Granulated sugar is common, but you can also use brown sugar or other sweeteners.)

Heat the water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring it to a rolling boil, which should take about 5-6 minutes. Watch for large, vigorous bubbles breaking the surface.
â±ïž 5-6 minutes - 2
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low to maintain a gentle simmer. Carefully add the ground coffee to the simmering water. Stir gently to ensure all the grounds are submerged.
â±ïž 1 minute - 3
Allow the coffee to simmer very gently for about 2-3 minutes. Avoid a vigorous boil at this stage, as it can make the coffee bitter. You should see a rich, dark color developing and a fragrant aroma filling the air.
â±ïž 2-3 minutes - 4
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let it sit for about 1 minute to allow the coffee grounds to settle slightly.
â±ïž 1 minute - 5
Carefully strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve or a cheesecloth-lined colander into a heatproof pitcher or directly into serving cups. This will remove the coffee grounds and result in a clear beverage.
- 6
Add sugar to taste, stirring until dissolved. Serve immediately while hot.

- Serve without sugar for a pure, unadulterated coffee flavor.
- Add a splash of milk or a dollop of condensed milk for a richer, sweeter beverage (though this moves away from the traditional 'tinto').
