Prepare the strawberries: Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly, remove the green hulls, and quarter them. If using frozen strawberries, you can skip this step and add them directly to the blender.
â±ïž 3 minutes - 2
Combine ingredients in blender: Add the prepared strawberries, chilled milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract to a blender. If you desire a very thick and icy milkshake, add the optional ice cubes at this stage.
â±ïž 1 minute - 3
Blend until smooth: Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed for about 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture is completely smooth, creamy, and well-combined. Scrape down the sides of the blender if necessary to ensure all ingredients are incorporated.
â±ïž 3 minutes - 4
Taste and adjust: Carefully taste the milkshake. If it's not sweet enough, add more sugar (or condensed milk) and blend for another 30 seconds. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk and blend briefly.
â±ïž 1 minute - 5
Serve immediately: Pour the Merengada de Fresa into chilled glasses. Serve immediately while it's cold and at its best consistency.
