  • 400 g Kidney Beans(canned, drained and rinsed (or 1.5 cups cooked dried beans))
  • 1 large Onion(finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 3.5 cups Water or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro(chopped, for garnish (optional))

    Heat vegetable oil in a medium pot or saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent.
