- 1 large Onion(chopped)
- 2 medium Carrots(diced)
- 1 medium Celery Stalk(diced)
- 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 1.5 liters Vegetable Broth
- 2 tbsp Butter or Oil
- 1 tsp Marjoram(dried)
- 1 Bay Leaf

Rinse the pearl barley under cold water and drain.
