Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these sweet potato fritters are a popular snack or side dish, seasoned with warm spices and a hint of sweetness.

🧂 Ingredients
- 2 large Sweet potatoes(peeled and grated)
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup Sugar(or to taste)
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg(freshly grated)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Milk(or as needed to form batter)
- for frying Vegetable oil
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the grated sweet potatoes, flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.
- 2
Gradually add milk, a little at a time, stirring until you achieve a thick but pourable batter consistency. It should not be too runny.
- 3
Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Carefully drop spoonfuls of the sweet potato batter into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan; fry in batches.
- 5
Fry the fritters for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to turn them.
- 6
Remove the fritters from the oil and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess grease.
- 7
Serve warm as a snack or a side dish.
