Malian Rice and Okra Pilaf

- 2 cups Long-grain rice(rinsed well)
- 1 lb Okra(fresh or frozen, trimmed and sliced)
- 1 medium Onion(chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 0.5 medium Bell pepper(chopped (any color))
- 1 tablespoon Tomato paste
- 3 cups Chicken or vegetable broth
- 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
- 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 0.1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper(or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Salt(or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro(chopped, for garnish)

Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add chopped onion and bell pepper and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
