🧂 Ingredients

  • 20 large Shrimp(cleaned, peeled, deveined, and cut in half lengthwise)
  • 2 tsp Fresh basil(chopped)
  • 1 clove Garlic(minced)
  • 3/4 pint Whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour(for dredging)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 1 oz Butter
  • 1 oz Olive oil

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

Rinse the prepared shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper, then lightly dredge in flour.

  2. 2

In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and sauté until they turn pink and slightly browned, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 3

Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Remove the skillet from the heat.

  4. 4

Stir in the chopped fresh basil and the whipping cream. Return the skillet to medium heat.

  5. 5

Cook, stirring gently, until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp.

  6. 6

Serve immediately, ideally with hot cooked white rice or pasta.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Ensure shrimp are not overcrowded in the pan for even cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of cream to achieve desired sauce consistency.
  • Fresh basil is key for authentic flavor; dried basil can be substituted but will alter the taste.

🔄 Variations

  • Add a splash of white wine to the pan before adding the cream.
  • Incorporate a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
