  • 1 kg Lamb(bone-in, cut into medium pieces)
  • 500 g Basmati rice(soaked for 30 minutes)
  • 3 large Onions(thinly sliced)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes(chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt(plain)
  • 1/2 cup Ghee or oil
  • 1 tbsp Whole spices(cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, bay leaf)
  • 1 tbsp Ground spices(coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder)
  • to taste Salt
  • a pinch Saffron threads(soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk)
  • 1 tsp Rose water
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro(chopped, for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint(chopped, for garnish)
