  • 1.5 kg Lamb shoulder(cut into large pieces)
  • 2 large Onions(chopped)
  • 6 cloves Garlic(minced)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger(freshly grated)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Coriander(ground)
  • 1 tsp Cumin(ground)
  • a pinch Saffron threads(soaked in warm water)
  • 4 tbsp Honey
  • 100 g Raisins
  • 100 g Dried apricots(halved)
  • 50 g Almonds(blanched and slivered, for garnish)
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • as needed Water or lamb broth
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
