  • 2 tsp Marjoram(dried)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper(freshly ground)
  • 50 g Breadcrumbs(for coating)
  • for frying Vegetable oil

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

Soak the bread roll in milk until soft, then squeeze out excess liquid and mix into crumbs.

  2. 2

Finely chop the onion and fry in butter until golden brown. Let cool slightly.

  3. 3

In a bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, fried onion, egg, parsley, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  4. 4

Shape the mixture into 5 flat patties (laibchen). Coat each patty in breadcrumbs.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Using a mix of beef and pork provides the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't overmix the meat mixture, as this can result in tough patties.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy exterior.

🔄 Variations

  • Add a clove of minced garlic to the meat mixture for extra flavor.
  • Some recipes include a teaspoon of mustard for a slight tang.
