🧂 Ingredients

  • 50 sheets Square wafers(thin, for layering)
  • 200 g Cocoa cream
  • 200 g Hazelnut cream
  • 1 tsp Instant coffee(dissolved in 1 tbsp hot water)
  • 200 g Dark chocolate(melted, for coating)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

Prepare the cocoa cream and hazelnut cream. If using separate ingredients, mix cocoa powder with a little milk and sugar to form a paste, and blend hazelnuts with sugar and milk for the hazelnut cream.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, dissolve the instant coffee in hot water to create a coffee syrup.

  3. 3

Lay out the first wafer sheet on a serving platter or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

Spread a thin layer of cocoa cream evenly over the wafer.

  5. 5

Place another wafer sheet on top and spread a thin layer of hazelnut cream.

  6. 6

Place a third wafer sheet and brush it with the dissolved coffee syrup.

  7. 7

Continue layering with wafers and creams (cocoa, hazelnut, coffee) until you have used all five wafer sheets and creams, ending with a wafer sheet on top.

  8. 8

Gently press down on the cake to ensure the layers adhere well.

  9. 9

Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides to coat it completely.

  10. 10

Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 25 minutes.

  11. 11

Once set, slice the Torta Titano into portions and serve.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Ensure the wafer sheets are thin and uniform for easier layering.
  • If creams are too thick, add a tablespoon of milk or cream to reach a spreadable consistency.
  • For a smoother chocolate coating, temper the chocolate before pouring.

🔄 Variations

  • Some recipes use a mix of chocolate and hazelnut cream for all layers.
  • A sprinkle of chopped hazelnuts can be added on top of the chocolate coating.
  • Can be made with fewer layers if desired.
