Comorian Octopus Curry

- 1 kg Octopus(cleaned and cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 400 ml Coconut milk
- 1 large Onion(finely chopped)
- 4 Garlic cloves(minced)
- 1 inch piece Fresh ginger(grated)
- 2 large Tomatoes(crushed or diced)
- 2 tablespoons Curry powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- to taste Salt

- 2 Fresh chilies(optional, finely chopped)

Clean the octopus thoroughly, removing the ink sac. Rub the octopus with salt, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Boil the octopus in water for about 20 minutes until it turns pink. Drain and let it cool, then cut into bite-sized pieces.

In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook for another minute until fragrant.
