Doogh (Persian Yogurt Drink)
A traditional and incredibly refreshing savory Persian yogurt drink, Doogh is a fizzy, mint-infused beverage that perfectly complements rich and spicy dishes, especially kebabs. It's a national favorite for a reason!
π§ Ingredients
- 500 g Plain yogurt(Full-fat or low-fat plain yogurt works well. Greek yogurt can be used, but you may need to add a little more water to achieve the desired consistency.)
- 500 ml Sparkling water(Chilled. Use plain sparkling water for the most authentic flavor. Flavored sparkling water can be used for a twist.)
- 1 tbsp Dried mint(Ensure it's dried mint, not fresh, for the classic Doogh flavor.)
- 1 tsp Salt(Or to taste. Fine sea salt is recommended.)

In a medium bowl, vigorously whisk the plain yogurt until it is completely smooth and creamy, with no lumps. This ensures a silky texture for the drink.

β±οΈ 1 minute - 3
Gradually pour in the chilled sparkling water while gently stirring or whisking. Continue to mix until the drink is well combined and slightly frothy. Be careful not to overmix, which can reduce the carbonation.
