Luxembourgish Potato and Bacon Bake

- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 2 cups Milk

In a skillet, fry the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy and golden brown. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper towel to drain. Reserve about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.

In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, grated garlic, salt, and pepper. This will be your creamy sauce.

Lightly grease a large ovenproof dish (approximately 9x13 inches) with a little of the reserved bacon fat or butter.

Arrange a layer of thinly sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared dish, overlapping them slightly. Sprinkle about a third of the crispy bacon and a third of the grated cheese over the potatoes.

Pour about a third of the creamy garlic sauce over the layer. Repeat the layering process two more times: potatoes, bacon, cheese, and sauce, until all ingredients are used.

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for another 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife and the top is golden brown and bubbly.
