- 500 g Shrimp(peeled and deveined)
- 4 tbsp Palm oil (Dendê)
- 1 large Onion(chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 1 medium Bell pepper(chopped (any color))
- 400 g Tomatoes(crushed or diced)
- 200 ml Chicken or vegetable broth
- 0.5 cup Cilantro(chopped)
- 1 tsp Salt(or to taste)
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper(freshly ground)
- 1 small Optional: Piri-piri pepper(finely chopped, for heat)

Heat the palm oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
