🧂 Ingredients
- 350 g Beef sirloin or frying steak(thinly sliced against the grain)
- 3 tbsp Cooking oil
- 3 small Garlic cloves(crushed)
- 2 stalks Spring onions(finely sliced)
- 1 small Onion(chopped)
- 1 inch Ginger(finely chopped)
- 0.25 medium Red bell pepper(chopped)
- 0.25 medium Green bell pepper(chopped)
- 0.25 medium Yellow bell pepper(chopped)
- 0.5 tsp Black peppercorns(crushed)
- 2.5 tbsp Black pepper sauce
- 0.5 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 0.5 tsp Salt(or to taste)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with crushed black peppercorns, black pepper sauce, oyster sauce, ketjap manis, turmeric powder, sugar, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 40 minutes if time permits).
- 2
Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the crushed garlic, sliced spring onions, chopped onion, and chopped ginger. Stir-fry until fragrant and softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- 3
Add the marinated beef and any remaining marinade to the wok. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Add the chopped bell peppers to the wok. Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the peppers are slightly tender-crisp.
- 5
If the sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of water. Cook for another minute until the sauce has thickened and coats the beef and vegetables.
- 6
Serve hot with steamed rice.
