  • 1 cup Red lentils(uncooked, rinsed)
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 medium Onion(finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves(minced)
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley(chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour(or chickpea flour)
  • 1 large Egg
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • for frying Olive oil

  • Serve hot with a side of tahini sauce or a yogurt-based dip.
  • These fritters can also be baked in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • For a vegan option, omit the egg and use a flax egg (1 tbsp flaxseed meal + 3 tbsp water, let sit for 5 minutes) or omit the egg and add a little more flour.
