Kyrgyz Walnut and Honey Dessert
A simple yet delightful Kyrgyz dessert made from crushed walnuts and honey, often with the addition of ghee. Balmaniz is a sweet treat that embodies the natural flavors of Kyrgyzstan, perfect for ending a meal.

- 200 g Walnuts(roughly chopped)
- 150 g Honey
- 2 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)(optional, for richness)
- 1/4 tsp Ground cardamom(optional, for aroma)

If using whole walnuts, toast them lightly in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes until fragrant. Let them cool slightly.

In a bowl, combine the roughly chopped walnuts and honey. If using ghee and cardamom, add them now.

Mix thoroughly until the walnuts are well coated with honey and other ingredients.

If the mixture is too stiff, you can gently warm it over very low heat for a minute or two, stirring constantly, until it reaches a more pliable consistency. Do not boil.
