- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 3/4 cup Water(or as needed for batter consistency)
- 4 cups Neutral oil for frying(such as canola or vegetable oil)

Prepare the bananas: Peel the namwa bananas and slice them lengthwise into about 1/4-inch thick pieces. If using plantains, peel and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
