Bahamian Grilled Lobster Tails - Bahamas traditional dish

🧂 Ingredients

  • 4 large Bahamian Lobster Tails
  • 0.25 cup Butter(melted)
  • 0.25 cup Lemon juice(freshly squeezed)
  • 2 cloves Garlic(minced)
  • 1 tsp Salt(or to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper(freshly ground)
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.25 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 0.25 tsp Dried Parsley
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil(for brushing grill)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.

  2. 2

Using kitchen shears, cut the lobster tails in half lengthwise, through the top of the shell. Gently spread the shell to expose the meat.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, combine melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and parsley. Brush this mixture over the exposed lobster meat.

  4. 4

Place the lobster tails on the grill, shell-side down. Grill for 5-6 minutes.

  5. 5

Flip the lobster tails and grill for another 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through. Baste with any remaining butter mixture during the last few minutes of cooking.

  6. 6

Remove from grill and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Do not overcook the lobster, as it can become tough.
  • Ensure the grill grates are well-oiled to prevent sticking.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.

🔄 Variations

  • Grill the lobster tails with the meat side down for the last minute to get nice grill marks.
  • Serve with a side of Bahamian peas 'n' rice or a fresh salad.
