Sweetened Date Porridge
A comforting and sweet porridge made from dates, milk, and semolina, flavored with cardamom and rose water. It's a traditional Omani breakfast or dessert.

- 1 cup Dates(pitted and roughly chopped)
- 4 cups Milk
- 1/2 cup Farina (semolina)
- 1/4 cup Sugar(or to taste)
- 1 tsp Ground cardamom
- 1 tsp Rose water(optional)
- 1 tbsp Butter(for drizzling (optional))

In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped dates and milk. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the dates begin to soften, about 5 minutes.

Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, puree the date and milk mixture until smooth. Return the mixture to the saucepan.

Whisk in the farina (semolina), sugar, and ground cardamom. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.

Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the porridge thickens to your desired consistency. Stir in the rose water, if using.
