- 500 g Smoked fish (e.g., barracuda or mackerel)(cleaned and cut into pieces)
- 150 ml Palm oil (dendê)
- 2 large Onions(chopped)
- 4 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 400 g Tomatoes(chopped)
- 200 g Okra(trimmed and sliced)
- 300 g Spinach or other leafy greens (e.g., chaya)(chopped)
- 2 small Chili peppers(finely chopped (optional, adjust to taste))
- 500 ml Water or fish stock

Soak the smoked fish in hot water for about 15-20 minutes to soften and remove excess salt. Drain and set aside.
