Riblja Čorba sa Povrćem
A vibrant and flavorful fish stew, distinct from the more common clear fish soups, this version incorporates a rich tomato and paprika base with chunks of hearty vegetables and tender fish. It's a satisfying and warming dish.

🧂 Ingredients
- 600 g Firm white fish fillets (e.g., pike, carp, catfish, or cod)(cut into 2-inch pieces)
- 2 large Onions(chopped)
- 2 medium Bell peppers (red and green)(chopped)
- 400 g Tomatoes(canned diced or fresh, chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 3 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Sweet paprika
- 1 tsp Hot paprika (optional)
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 liter Vegetable broth or water
- 2 medium Potatoes(peeled and diced)
- 1 medium Carrot(diced)
- 1/4 cup Parsley(fresh, chopped, for garnish)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add the chopped bell peppers and cook for another 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
- 3
Stir in the minced garlic, sweet paprika, hot paprika (if using), and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly.
- 4
Add the diced tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.
- 5
Pour in the vegetable broth or water. Add the diced potatoes and carrots. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- 6
Gently add the fish pieces to the simmering stew. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook the fish, as it can become dry.
- 7
Season the stew with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir gently.
- 8
Ladle the stew into bowls, ensuring each serving has fish, vegetables, and broth. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
