Tavë Kosovare
A hearty baked dish featuring lamb or beef, yogurt, eggs, and sometimes rice or potatoes, creating a rich and comforting casserole.

🧂 Ingredients
- 1 kg Lamb or beef(cut into cubes)
- 2 large Onions(chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic(minced)
- 500 g Plain yogurt
- 3 large Eggs
- 50 g Butter
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 200 ml Water or broth

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a large baking dish.

In a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté the chopped onions in a little oil or butter until softened. Add the cubed lamb or beef and brown it on all sides.

Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir well and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Transfer the meat and onion mixture to the prepared baking dish. Pour in the water or broth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the plain yogurt and eggs until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the meat in the baking dish.

Dot the top with small pieces of butter. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.

Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Tavë Kosovare is traditionally served with a side of fresh salad or bread.
